my hero
my hero is my great grandpa.... he died 3 years ago and it has been very hard because i was close to him. my grandpa fought in the Vietnam war and earned a purple heart when he was injured due to shrapnel from a bomb hitting his leg and making it hard for him to walk for many years. he also fought off cancer 3 times before it took his life. he was a strong man and fought hard for the free country he lived in. He owned his own business at the age of 23 and was married soon after. my grandpa was an awesome guy and we sure do miss him now!

Wow he sounds awesome. It's pretty cool that he was awarded the purple heart. I think that it's sad that he died from cancer, but all the things he accomplished in life is rather amazing. I give props.
